Your First Appointment

We want to ensure that your visit with us always exceeds your expectations. As such, we will work with you to make sure that you are seen in the timeliest manner possible, even if that requires being seen the same day. We recommend coming for your first appointment between 6 – 10 weeks of pregnancy.

Dr Harborne will perform a dating scan, take your history, discuss birth choices and answer any questions you may have. We look forward to hearing from you so we can guide you through the booking process and answer any questions you may have about this exciting time.

Appointment Hours

Dr Harborne is in her consulting rooms every day during the week and is available for appointments on these days excluding times when she is operating.

We do require a 24 hour advanced notice if you cannot make it to your scheduled appointment. Please call as soon as possible if you know you will not be able to keep your appointment, as this will enable someone else in need to obtain your appointment time.

After Hours

Dr Harborne is affiliated with 3 other obstetricians (Dr Ljilijana Miljkovic-Petkovic, Dr Susan Winspear and Dr Peter Soaki). Each obstetrician does one weekend in four. This means that if you go into labour on a weekend Dr Harborne is not on call one of these reputable doctors will attend. Dr Harborne is of course on call from Monday to Friday each week to attend should you have any concerns or you require delivery.

What To Bring To Your Appointment

Your Referral

Dr Harborne is a specialist medical practitioner which means that Medicare requires that patients bring a referral from another doctor when they see Dr Harborne. A referral is a letter from a doctor asking another doctor to see a patient. It often includes details about why the patient needs to be seen. Referrals from GPs will last for 12 months from your appointment date and specialist referrals will only last for 3 months. You will need a referral to see Dr Harborne to obtain your Medicare Rebate

Test Results

If you have had any recent tests relating to your current issue, pregnancy or pap smear, please bring most recent results with you on the day, or if you let us know where you had them performed we can obtain them for you.
